Tides like Digg and Slashdot and a billion others have drained resources and this process is reaching a point of redundancy.
My friend and former boss at the E-learning department from Savannah College of Art and Design, Chris A Bass, has started an innovative idea called Webbyr. Webbyr is a minimalist art form that defies how far we have gone in this sea of cognizance. They had made a music video for the psychedelic band Summer Birds in the Cellar. The video is a combination of live action and rotoscoped animation (This got them featured on the Toon Boom site!). I got to act as an extra in this music video where I play a frustrated customer grabbing cash from the pretty bank teller.

The duo have currently finished shooting another movie called “Midway Down” which is about a crazy guy named Midway (played by Ian Pfaff) who journeys all across the states to find his love. I got to play a small role of the manager who gets to fire Midway. (behind the scenes) Shall update the post once I get to know about any release dates. Cheers ! I was assigned icons to design for an online course for SCAD e-Learning. The icons had to be universally recognizable and had to have some typographic reference. Given a certain color pallet, I made four color variations for each of them. The initial concepts also dealt with varied classical style and a pajama pattern for the letters, but the limiting factor was that it had to look very cleaned up and yet work within the small frame size of 75×75 pixels. Thus, they couldn’t be very intricate.

I got this new project at the department where I work-study as a cartoon Illustrator. The project was to develop a series of cartoons that were to be thrown in throughout the project. This is some of the concept art for the project codenamed “The Tub Thumpers.” It has 4 characters that revolve around the plot. The first Guy is “Anxiety Attack Kid,” forever under the shadow of doubt and thinks he’s a complete washout. The Second is “Mist Rust Girl,” the one who just doesn’t know how to express herself ’cause she lacks confidence arising from suspicion. The 3rd character is “Patito D’zorgo.” This incoherent 30+ man is sleepy most of the time. The 4th character is “Captain Army Man.” He believes that the world is incompatible with him and whose re-activeness is always peaking the meter gauge.

Storyboard Class is one of the best that I’ve gone through. My professor Jose Luis Silva (Who recently completed a work called TThe Paradise LostT) has these really interesting brainstorming assignments. And hell yeah, I’m enjoying them. This was an assignment where we had to take a passage from anywhere and make a 30 second storyboard. I chose the Final Battle from the Ramayan, retold by Dr. CS Shah.
